here's the picture that started it all, thanks to pam fogg. dan knights was the world champion speedcuber in 2003. that is to say, he could solve a rubik's cube faster than anyone alive, who bothered competing. dan's average in the tournament: 16.3 seconds. and really, it's an amazing thing to watch. i bought a cube before this shoot just to play around with it. dan showed me some basic theory and then i studied a lot and annoyed everyone i know. my best time: 55 seconds.
