all week long i was being warned about not screwing up the picture of leemor. apparently leemor had had a bad experience with a previous photographer in residence a couple years back. but i wasn't worried. we were old pals at this point, and really, i have somewhat of a specialty in people who don't like having their pictures taken. as i've always said, liking this process is a character flaw. anyway, leemor had just had a paper she recently published in nature magazine named a 'hot new paper of the month' (catchy, i know) meaning that it was often cited in other sources. she does work on RNA interference, as well as work involving malaria. i was told she has an absolutely amazing virtual reality 3D light show of genes on a molecular level, but i didn't get a chance to see it. oh, and leemor's also a mountain goats fan, which makes her all right in my book. see, john? you have fans in high places, too..
