harbor lab faculty info page they describe dmitri's work
as involving "principles of brain design". i
really like this phrase because to me it implies that's
he's actually building a brain. but apparently it doesn't
imply that to anyone else. what he's actually doing is
applying the math of optimization to see how neurons and
pathways in the brain are put together. still, if it came
out that he had unfinished parts of artificial brains
in jars somewhere in the back of his office, i'd be quite
pleased. |
