Quitters
is a photo-documentary project consisting of photographs of and interviews
with people who have changed their lives dramatically and suddenly.
Quitting is not necessarily a negative thing, though it does traditionally
have negative connotations. I'm trying to get around that. Almost
everyone has quit something, at some point in their lives. The most
obvious examples are people who quit smoking/drinking/drugs. . . but
these are not always the most interesting stories. There are also
those people who have quit jobs, careers, cities, marriages, families,
relationships, identities, lifestyles - you name it.
There are those people who have quit things and become worse off for
it, and there are those people who have quit things to improve their
lives. Either way, it can yield a great story and hopefully some insights
on life.
I'm looking for unusual and dramatic stories and people who know how
to tell them. To become a quitter, please contact
me. |
