"We just heard about this other kid who's fifteen, a year older than her. He lives in Newport beach. He's got hypoplastic left heart, and he's the only one who has survived to be that old. And when he found out about Jeni he was just so excited that there was somebody else that had survived.

"When they were doing hypoplastic left hearts in the beginning it was unusual to live. She was only like the third, or something, in the world. They told me when they were going to do the surgery that there was zero chance of her surviving.

"You do what you have to do. People sometimes used to say 'How do you do it?' or 'How would you change anything?' There's nothing I would change any different. God has enriched our lives since she's been born. I mean, we wouldn't have it any other way. }}}
