the value of my advice (photographer appreciation post #3)
Written on October 26, 2009

if you’re a normal person seeking advice you ask a professional. a doctor or a lawyer or a business manager, perhaps. if you’re a photographer seeking advice you ask other photographers. this is under the assumption that other photographers might somehow be magically less clueless than yourself. we all like to live with our delusions. if you’re really desperate for advice, if your doctor or lawyer or business manager don’t pick up their phone, then you ask me.
ethan sent me a draft of his latest e-promo and asked my opinion. i gave my opinion, suggested some changes. he agreed with me. i said great, i’ll take ten percent. a few days later i got this check in the mail. thanks, ethan.
as a disclaimer a few things should be pointed out: first, i can sometimes actually give pretty good advice. second, i obviously need to raise my consultation rates. third, ethan pines is a damn good photographer and a good buddy of mine. go look at his stuff here.
Filed in: friends.
What an ingrate. He should have sent you at least a box of donuts or something. Maybe you can use that check to deplete his account.
already on top of it. your bank account is now filled with krispy kremes. i just drew a one and a couple extra zeroes in front of the number. that seemed to work.
