carnitas isn’t a crime, either.

i’ve been visiting a number of taco trucks in eagle rock lately. this does pertain to a shoot (more on that later), but it also pertains to general deliciousness. the shoot involves a law that goes into effect tomorrow, may 15th, which will make it illegal for taco trucks to park in any one place for more than an hour. they face large fines and possible jail time. if enforced this could effectively kill the taco truck industry in LA, which would be a real shame. go to saveourtacotrucks.org to sign a petition against the new law.
also, tonight they seem to be having a last hurrah in east LA, before truck-made tacos become scarce. unfortunately i will be unable to attend this feast as i have a shoot on the other side of town.

but i’ve sampled half a dozen different trucks in the past week, have yet to catch any sort of food borne illness or hepatitis, and have had some damn good, tasty and cheap grub. my vote definitely goes to rambo’s who not only has wonderful carnitas, but the best van art imaginable. sly stallone as rambo, holding a plate of tacos, and a sniper has unceremoniously put a bullet through his soda cup.
