max s. gerber(the latest shot)

i was really happy to do this shoot. first because it wasn’t some dude in a suit in a conference room for a change, and second because sia had great window light in her bedroom and it’s always a really wonderful feeling to shoot without a ton of gear. also, the best part of my job is just going to people’s houses and seeing how they live, without dealing with an army of publicists or security guards or executive assistants telling me what i could or could not do. when she’s in LA sia lives in a big triangular shaped house in silverlake, with two dogs, pantera (the black one) and liklik (the mutt).

sia was a great subject who just really knows how to take a picture. nearly everything she does is photogenic and she has almost no self-consciousness. this is really a treat for a photographer. so thanks, sia.
