armando fitz is the co-owner of
the fitz-bradshaw racing team. the most impressive thing about being
at a nascar race is watching the pit crew change four tires in 45
seconds. it mostly serves to make me pissed off even more when i end
up waiting six hours at the toyota dealership for them to fix my car.
actually, other than the pit stops, i really don't get nascar. i don't
understand the appeal of watching something go around in circles for
hours. if you're not standing right there, you really don't get a
sense of the speed involved, and if you are standing right there,
you only actually see the damn cars for five seconds out of every
lap. and apparently there are hundreds of laps. also, for a guy who
sunburns as easily as i do, standing outside for ten hours is a bad
idea, even if things are going in circles really fast. thanks very
much to ethan for going above and beyond the call of duty yet again
in assisting with only a reasonable amount of complaining. |
