jerry stahl is probably best known as the author and subject of the book 'permanent midnight' - which was later made into a movie, with ben stiller playing jerry stahl. jerry's life story is actually more involved than just mixing heroin and alf (though, really, that should be more than enough for even the most discerning of you). this was shot in the hollywood forever cemetery, on a rare rainy day in los angeles. thanks to charles laurence for all of his help, and for wearing an almost identical jacket to jerry stahl. and thanks to benj friedman for assisting valiantly, despite the threat of antagonizing the spirits of the dead. the best part, really, is that some guy put a picture of himself wearing a trucker hat right on his tombstone. that's not the style you want to take into eternity.
