artist, photographed at the chateau marmont. or, should
i say, BEHIND the chateau marmont. let me add here, while
you're listening, that the chateau marmont is by far one
of the most unhelpful, inconvenient places i've ever had
the misfortune to take pictures. and it's happened several
times. publicists seem to love making life difficult for
photographers. though, to be fair, matthew barney was
very gracious and personable. no fault of his. we did
manage to sneak past the chateau marmont gestapo just
once, though.
